Planning a Future Gift
in Your Will or Trust

When you include The Greater Boston Food Bank (GBFB) in your will or trust, your planned generosity is a statement that you care. You care about our Eastern Massachusetts neighbors in need, and you want them to have the healthy food they need as a foundation to thrive in their own lives—far into the future.

A future gift set up in your will or trust, known as a bequest, may be indicated as a specific dollar amount, specific item, or a percentage of your assets. If you would like to plan a bequest to help future generations benefit from our work, we suggest sharing this language with your attorney for review and inclusion in your estate documentation:

“I give to The Greater Boston Food Bank, Inc., a nonprofit corporation currently located at 70 South Bay Avenue, Boston, MA 02118, or its successor, [$_________ ] or [name specific item] or [ _______%] for its unrestricted charitable use and purpose.”

Our federal tax ID number is: 04-2717782.

Once you have included GBFB in your will or trust, kindly let us know so that we may express our appreciation to you personally and invite you to join The Kip Tiernan Society.

Named for our founder, Mary Jane “Kip” Tiernan, The Kip Tiernan Society is a growing group of our supporters whose future gifts will provide nourishment for our Eastern Massachusetts neighbors in years to come.

If you are interested in naming GBFB a beneficiary of an asset that would transfer outside of your will or trust according to designated instructions, such as a retirement plan or donor advised fund, learn more here.
