How to Donate Your Car
- Fill out the car donation form online or by calling 877-957-2277. We’ll ask for some information about your vehicle and where it will be picked up.
- A local towing agent will contact you within two to three business days to schedule pick-up of your vehicle.
- After your car is sold, you’ll receive your vehicle donation tax receipt via email.

Who is Advance Remarketing Services?
Advance Remarketing Services is GBFB’s authorized agent processing all of our vehicle donations. They handle the title transfer, towing and reporting of all vehicle donations. Vehicle donations may be made online through the donation page or by calling (877) 957-2277.
What types of vehicles are accepted?
We accept running and non-running cars. Your car should have at least two inflated tires and be in a tow accessible location, such as a driveway or on a street. Trucks, motorcycles, boats, planes, snowmobiles, heavy machinery, trailers and RVs are accepted on a case-by-case basis. What paperwork is needed to donate my car?
You’ll need to have a clear title in order to complete your car donation. If you can’t find your title, you’ll have to apply for a duplicate title. Instructions on how to sign your Massachusetts title over to our authorized agent, Advanced Remarketing Services, can be found here or you can call our processing center at 877-957-2277 and a customer service representative can walk you through the process.
How long will it take for my vehicle to be picked up?
After you submit the donation form, a local towing agent will contact you within two to three business days to schedule a pick up time. Be sure to remove all personal belongings from your car. You’ll hand over the signed title to the tow driver at the time of pick up.
How much money will Greater Boston Food Bank receive from my car donation?
Advanced Remarketing Services returns on average 80% of the gross proceeds from the sale of your car back to GBFB–the highest of any vehicle donation program!
Will I receive a tax receipt?
Yes! Within 30 days of the sale of your vehicle, you’ll be emailed a tax receipt for your car donation. If your car sold for over $500, you can claim the full selling price when you itemize taxes. If it sold for less than $500, you can claim the fair market value up to $499. Please consult with your tax advisor on the best way to claim your Greater Boston Food Bank car donation tax deduction.
