Everyone is feeling the strain of rising food costs, but the impact is hardest on our neighbors facing hunger. As the cost of staple items climbs, fresh fruits and vegetables are often the first to go from already stretched grocery budgets, leaving local families with fewer nutritious options on their tables.
The Greater Boston Food Bank (GBFB) is committed to ensuring that everyone has access to nutritious fruits and vegetables—every day. This March, you can be part of the solution by supporting GBFB’s Spring for Meals campaign. With our recent cold storage expansion, GBFB can now distribute over 8 million additional pounds of fresh produce, protein, and dairy each year. But we need your help to keep our new fridge full and ensure more families have access to the nutritious food they need to thrive.
Thanks to our generous campaign sponsor, Delta Air Lines, all donations to Spring for Meals will be matched up to the first $50,000 received until March 31. That means your support will have DOUBLE the impact in providing fresh, healthy food to those who need it most.
At GBFB, we prioritize nutritious food because we know that health starts with what’s on the plate.
For neighbors like Anne, a retired social worker in New Bedford, access to fresh produce is essential. After a blood disorder diagnosis, her medical expenses skyrocketed, making it difficult to afford the fruits and vegetables she loves.
“Thank you so much for letting people like me be able to enjoy vegetables and fruits that I need so much in my diet.”
Join us this March and help provide fresh, healthy food to our neighbors in need.
