Meet our Hunger Heroes:
Casey Goldstein

Published on February 28, 2025

We’re thrilled to share that five incredible Hunger Heroes will be hitting the pavement in April and running the Boston Marathon for GBFB. In addition to this incredible feat, our five runners will raise funds to provide healthy food for our neighbors in need across Eastern Massachusetts. Read more about our runners and how you can support their efforts to make a difference in our community.

Casey’s running story: “I was a late bloomer when it came to the world of running…I found it excruciatingly painful until my mom gifted me a new pair of running shoes in 2020,” he says. “I remember the first time I put them on, I ran four miles, [which is] three miles more than I’d ever gone before. Then eight,12, and the rest was history. Two weeks later I wrote on a little sticky note: ‘I will run the Boston Marathon.’”

Hometown: Boston, MA

Occupation: Climate Investor

Favorite food to fuel for runs: Burrito bowls

Related Click ‘N Cook recipe: Chicken and Rice Burritos

Casey’s running playlist: Speed Drive by Charlie XCX

A fun fact about Casey: “I ate Chinese food with Nicki Minaj at the Denver Airport,” says Casey.

Why GBFB: “I have volunteered at Rosie’s Place and other food banks, and am incredibly appreciative of the work of GBFB to provide food to those in need…I’ve grown up in Boston my whole life. It’s been a dream to run in this marathon. I’m so grateful that I get to do this while supporting The Greater Boston Food Bank, and alongside all of you,” he says.
