At GBFB, our community is vital. This includes you, the families we serve, partner agencies, and the local farmers growing fresh produce all across Massachusetts.
When you support GBFB, you’re helping our network have consistent access to high-quality food, and partners to help distribute it.
Your support helps students like Mariela, a graduate student at Brandeis who participates in FRESH, a program that works closely with Healthy Waltham, a GBFB partner agency.
GBFB serves over 20 locations throughout Cape Cod and the islands of Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard. An average of 32,000 lbs. is delivered to the Harwich cross-dock site every week.
This summer, the Nantucket Food Pantry is serving around 250 households. This includes families born and raised on the island and those working seasonal jobs.
GBFB’s weekly cross-dock drop-off in the Cape is critical for partners far from the city, but the Nantucket Food Pantry’s current location comes with some challenges.

The idea of a Food Pantry on Nantucket seems almost like an oxymoron, when in fact, 15% of the island’s year-round residents require food assistance.
