As is tradition, rival governors in the Stanley Cup placed a friendly wager. On Tuesday, July 23, Governor Deval Patrick made good on this year’s wager by volunteering alongside Governor Pat Quinn at the Greater Chicago Food Depository. The governors’ volunteer activity drew much attention to the issue of food insecurity in communities across America, including Illinois and Massachusetts. Governors Patrick and Quinn spent over an hour sorting through fruit and packaging it for use at food pantries, soup kitchens and shelters. Everyone has a role in ending hunger in our community. You can help end hunger right here in Eastern Massachusetts by volunteering at GBFB. Click here to learn more and sign up.
