TJX and Its Employees Support GBFB

This month, we highlight The TJX Companies, Inc., including The TJX Foundation, for their longtime commitment to ending hunger in Eastern Massachusetts. Since 1989, TJX has been a valued partner of The Greater Boston Food Bank (GBFB). Over the years, the company and its employees have generously supported GBFB with funding, food donations, and volunteerism. The TJX Foundation provided financial support to GBFB general operations, the “Fighting Hunger, Feeding Hope” capital campaign for the new distribution facility, and the Kids Cafe Program. In the last five years, The TJX Foundation has become a consistent and generous supporter of the Kids Cafe, which provides nutritious, out of school meals to children, five days a week. TJX employees have become even more engaged in recent years. TJX and TJ Maxx stores have supported GBFB through numerous Food and Fund Drives. To date, TJX has donated more than 9,000 pounds of food, enough for nearly 7,000 meals to those in need. TJX is also a company of committed volunteers. Since 2009, 171 employees have volunteered 450 hours of service with GBFB. To “end hunger here,” it takes devoted organizations and passionate individuals. We thank TJX for 23 years of dedication to our mission.
