Statement on Government Shutdown Ending

BOSTON – January 25, 2019 – We are heartened to learn that the shutdown has ended and the federal government is back in operation. At this time we want to extend our deepest gratitude to our friends and partners who came forward to provide support at this difficult time. Your help enabled The Greater Boston Food Bank (GBFB) to provide its member agencies with additional resources to ensure that anyone in need over the last five weeks was able to access food.

We recognize this has been a hard time for many families across the state and there will be ripple affects in the coming weeks. We remain dedicated to our steadfast commitment to end hunger here and will continue to be here for those impacted by the last few weeks.
