At The Greater Boston Food Bank (GBFB), we have a vision to lead our community in pursuing bold, yet thoughtful anti-hunger policy solutions and empower our Eastern Massachusetts community to become advocates.
GBFB is focused on advancing policy that accelerates current food access programs that help alleviate the current hunger crisis while also supporting sustainable, root-cause policies that intersect with hunger-relief and advance equity.
Working in partnership with our government officials, network partners, statewide coalitions, and the general public is key to achieving our mission to End Hunger Here.

Public policy and advocacy are key components of our mission to #EndHungerHere across Eastern Massachusetts. Our team was present at the MA State House, testifying before the Joint Committee on Higher Education in support of An Act establishing the Hunger-Free Campus Initiative (H.1293/ S.835). GBFB co-leads a statewide coalition to end hunger on college campuses, the MA Hunger Free Campus Coalition, made up of 130 members across the state. Students and advocates testified on the need to address the food insecurity experienced by 1 in 3 public and community college students statewide.
